Lionheads have stolen my heart from day one! I love rabbits but Lionheads just hold an extra special place in my heart. I have such a passion for them, I really dont see myself breeding any other rabbit. Hey everyone has their preferences right? I think any lionhead breeder will tell you, these little buggers are addicting. They have such sweet personalities... and are JUST GORGEOUS! It is such an opportunity and challenge to try to perfec these lines and i cannot wait until I've been doing this for a few years Smile

When i first saw a lionhead rabbit, I definitely knew I wanted one for a pet!! They are just the cutest rabbits IN MY OPINION!! hahah Of course everyone is biased to their own rabbit breed... I'm just so glad that I breed them and i had my first litter last month and I wow, what a great experience!

I'd love to hear other lionheads talk about their love for LH's and how they got started Smile

Well my story is much sadder. My friend owned a pet mini rex. Well my dog tried "playing" with him and gave the poor thing a heart attcl. After that we went on a bunny search. I felt so guilty! And then like potatoe chips you just can't have one. And I wouldn't do any other breed either. They are a challenge. Breeding a lionhead is alot like piecing together a puzzle. Makes life interesting. And being in California (moving to Texas soon) I started out with the best and plan to continue breeding the best. LOL.

Awwww I'm so sorry to hear that!!! Yes they are addicting!!! And they are a challenge. It was a challenge for me to look for stock. Since I just started out it's all just new to me now, but I am SO ready for the challenge, I can't wait. You are so right it's like a huge puzzle... So many things that have to be right!

Oh and i didnt add to how i got started, I think imust have been interupted by the dogs and thought i typed it and posted it before i did hahah...

Anyway, well i wanted a bunny and i was thinking about getting an orange holland from my friend brandi in NY who breeds hollands. Then I read about lionheads and from then on i was addicted. haha... anyway, but long story short... that's basically how it started. And now i'm so addicted to these little lions hehe..

I saw your other post about pet peeves, i gotta get going but i'll reply to that later Smile

Well, I'm just now getting started! Rolling Eyes I've had the lionheads for about 8 months now and have come a long way in a short time. My story of how I got started, takes us back to january. I was at a farm and ranch store and there was a little tort doe around 4 months old sitting in a cage in there. She was $15 and the cutest thing ever, so I got her. I then started researching the breed and within a week I was looking for pedigreed lionheads in my area. Much to my surprise it seemed like they didn't exist in my area, but then I found an add from a lady that bought them for her daughters to show and the girls no longer had an intrest in them, they were a few towns away, but I had to go look at them. It was cold and freezing rain out. I brought home a trio. Since then I've added in more lines to help get my stock on track and things are going great! Laughing
